i’ve been working with my hands as long as i can remember—first, as a painter + fiber artist, and now as a floral designer. after getting my bfa, i ended up in a floral studio, and it was love at first sight (if you’ll forgive the cliché).
the medium is different, but the creative process is the same. i approach floral design the same way I do my paintings: in terms of movement, texture, and color story.
your wedding florals set the tone of the event—but they should also feel like you, not just whatever is on the blogs + instagram right now.
at jessamine, we do wedding florals for people who value the daring, the maybe-a-little-weird, the unexpected, and the extremely personal. they’re informed by our art-school knowledge as well as years of practical experience in retail floristry + working with other wedding florists.
i received a bfa in fiber and material studies from the school of the art institute of chicago
indigo is my fave color
i secretly love it when corporations dunk on each other on twitter
i have never, not once, met a vintage candlestick holder i don’t want to take home
i probably shouldn’t have a favorite flower, but…it’s either ranunculus or hellebore (looking at you, spring couples!)

inclusivity
we’re firm believers in inclusivity in all its facets, even and especially when it’s not convenient. (and to spell it out, this means we’re deeply committed to welcoming LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks, disabled folks, and other marginalized groups.)
collaboration
it’s not our wedding—it’s yours. and we create accordingly. tell us what you covet and we’ll run with it. have wedding decision fatigue and want to do the least? we can work with that too.
artistry
we see each wedding as an art installation (blame it on art school). which means we’re willing to do anything in service of the final look—individually coaxing flowers to bloom, sourcing a vintage vase, pulling in an element of your stationery suite.
expertise
we know who grows the best dahlias in nj. we know which flowers are here for a good time but not a long time in june. we know how to take your budget + get more bang for your buck. we know an equally-pretty alternative to that one flower that looks cute but doesn’t smell so hot.
